Heat pump: monthly cost, opinions, benefits

Spis treści

With the rapid development of heating systems, the heat pump has become one of the more popular choices in Poland. Covering a wide range of benefits, from economic to ecological, pumps are gaining recognition among more and more Poles. In today’s article, we take a look at the benefits of heat pumps for 2023 users, current opinions on the subject, as well as the monthly costs associated with installing these devices.

Benefits of using heat pumps

The most important benefits from using heat pumps are:

  1. Financial savings

Despite the initial high installation costs, a heat pump is much more economical in the long term than standard systems such as gas or coal cookers. Below are the estimated heating costs for a 150 m2 house throughout the year (rates in 2023), and on a monthly basis:

Fuel Coal Gas Oil Wood Pellet Heat pump
(annual cost)
Price (PLN) 6 750 8 060 10 510 6 880 5 850 3 570 – 4 980
Fuel Coal Gas Oil Wood Pellet Heat pump
(monthly cost – average)
Price (PLN) 563 672 876 573 488 298 – 415

From the above figures, it is clear that for a heat pump the monthly cost of use is the lowest.

Theinvestment in purchasing and installing aheat pump starts to pay off after a few years, especially when compared to systems based on fuels such as gas or oil.

  1. Environmental benefit

Heat pumps are an environmentally friendly heating solution, characterised by the absence of emissions and pollutants. In this way, heat pumps are part of the European Union’s efforts to protect the environment, an important step towards a greener future.

  1. Comfort and reliability

Heat pumps provide consistent and comfortable heating all year round, regardless of weather conditions. They also do not require extra work, such as adding coal to the cooker. They are quiet and need minimal maintenance, which increases their reliability.

  1. Support from EU and government programmes

Programmes such as CLEAN AIR and MY PROGRESS make investing in a heat pump even more economically attractive. You can get as much as 35,200 PLN subsidy for your heat pump!

Barbara 65 years old:

“I am a happy owner of a Daikin heat pump. The house is warm and the electricity bills have not increased. In the summer the pump used about 1.5 kWh per day to heat the water! Now that the cold weather has started it is about 15 kWh. I am very satisfied. I highly recommend it!”

Heat pump – installation cost

A heat pump, despite its many advantages, comes with some installation costs. In 2023, prices depend on the type of pump, the wattage and also the specific local conditions. The cost of the best heat pumps on the market for a well-insulated house with an area of 150m2 varies between 50 000 and 60 000 PLN. Nevertheless, it is worth remembering that we can benefit from subsidy programmes. Obtaining the highest subsidy threshold from the Clean Air Programme and deducting the thermomodernisation allowance, the final cost of the pump is approximately 10 000 PLN. With such a budget, we are able to obtain a top quality device which will serve us for many years.

The monthly maintenance cost of a heat pump depends on energy consumption, which in turn is influenced by many factors. We wrote more about this in the article How much energy does a heat pump consume?”

Summary

Heat pumps in 2023 are not only the greenest heating solution, but also the most economical. The growing number of positive reviews proves that it is an investment with real benefits for users.
