Solar lights – a revolution in Christmas lighting

One of the most beautiful parts of Christmas is admiring all the light decorations around. Whether you are decorating to impress or just to have fun, chances are that buying Christmas tree lights is one of your plans. They may seem like low-energy devices. However, it turns out that if you leave the lights on for a few weeks you could end up with a surprisingly high electricity bill. What do solar lights look like?

At the end of the solar light cable, instead of a plug, there is a miniature photovoltaic module. Such a panel is exposed to sunlight, which is preferably outside. A tiny inverter is mounted between the panel and the lamps, which is responsible for converting the direct current generated by the module into alternating current. High-quality LEDs are used in the solar lights, thanks to which the lights are not only characterised by intense light, but also by low power consumption and long life.

Built-in batteries allow the energy collected by the photovoltaic panel to be stored, enabling the lights to shine even after dark. The photovoltaic module is equipped with a twilight automatic that turns the lights on when darkness falls and off at dawn. This practical solution allows the lighting to be controlled automatically, without the need for manual switching on and off.

The operating time of the LED lights when the batteries are fully charged is about 10 hours, and the charging process takes about six hours. It is worth noting that the entire set does not require a connection to the mains, as the LED lights are powered directly from the energy stored by the photovoltaic panels.

In order for the lights to be resistant to climatic conditions and to be able to be mounted externally, they should have at least an IP44 rating.
